I just became the proud yet puzzled owner of an 68 alglas 25. I waited 19 years to get my hands on this perticuliar boat, however those years were rough on her. The cosmetics in a moot issue, but I am dumbfounded when it comes to the motor. I can not find any information regarding its set up. (motor is out of boat, many missing or ill placed placed parts). I too can not seem to locate any companies that sell 318 chrysler parts such as an intake manifold, and a new!!!!! electronic distributors to replace the old point system. Kinda amazing being that when I worked at a marina for 15 years beginning 20 years ago, these were the most popular engines. Can anyone please help. Thank you for reading and any assistance.

I have owned a couple alglas boats over the years. If you can afford to change I would install a 350cid engine. In my area there are about 15 wahoo's and all have made the change. Parts are available. My alglas is a center console with a "T" top. We use these boats to fish the sand-bars on Long Beach Island New Jersey. The Chrysler engines have went on the wayside, but you can still find parts.

all great comments -on my 25 sportfish the clearance is such that newer vortec heads lift the intake up too high for the traditional 1 to 1 trans and angle. So be sure to get an old pre 86 chevy(aka crusader) or a 318 good luck

Up in the Boston area there is a guy who breaks old boats. I know he has a pair of 1969 318's he picked up from me. I would expect he will part them out. The engines were ran 3 years ago but that is about it. As for electronic ignition conversion try Pertronics. I have retrofited a couple of my MG's as well as the engines in my Pacemaker. www.pertronics.com
