25ft 3000 rpms at wot 15knot :(

Well I got the motor back from the shop and it runs great the carb was salted up. I reinstalled to motor and tranny then took her out for a spin in the bay. Everything had its problem the trans cable can loose, I left the seawater inlet valve closed, the shaft packing was leaking, and I wrecked the impeller on the water pump. I can fix all the other problems its just at full throotle I am only reaching 3000 rpms I am running a 13x10 med cup prop I have modified the fuel capacity to 100 gals versus 65 gals. There is a 30 gallong bait tank on the port side deck and a 25 gal fresh water tank a on the starboard side just in font of the back wall is ther anyone who can help me with this?

Are you sure that the throttle cable is set right? You can adjust it at the controls as well as at the carb for your top end. How full was the tank of gas and how old is the gas? The fuel we get today has a lousy shelf life. How full were the other tanks? At roughly 7 pounds per gallon if all your tanks are full then that is an additional 1085 lb's. that would bring your speed down. How clean and smooth is the bottom as that will affect speed as well. The prop sounds ok. You say the carb was salted up, when you had it off did you give it a thorough cleaning? Rereading your post you said that the impeller got wrecked, how hot did things get? It sounds like you have some searching to do but you are getting there.

I will double check the throttle cable tomorrow. I had one tank full and the other at half. The bait tank was full and so was the fresh water tank. the fuel is only like 4 months old. the bottom paint is a mess but I was able to get like 25 knots before just on a almost empty tank.

If there is a doubt on the fuel, you could take a outboard tank and hook it up useing fresh gas.

Have you checked your compression? You can check if there's pressure bleeding off the head gaskets into the cooling system with a pressure tester. If you overheated you may have damaged the head gaskets. Also you may get antifreeze in your oil if that is the case.

I check the throttle linkage and it turns out that the choke was keeping the secondaries from opening up all the way. I checked the water pump impeller and it surprisingly was still intack no issues. The timing is set to properly since I just got it back from the shop. I have done compression checks, leak down check there is no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil so I dont have a head gasket

Ok, if you are now able to get WOT which as memory seves is supposed to be around 4200 rpm what are you doing for speed? Does your boat have trim tabs on it? I have the same hull and without the trim tabs she has a tendency to drag her stern like a dog with worms. useing the tabs I can get up to a semblance of planeing and If I rmember right I was running at 3800 rpm's and with a clean bottom I got up to 20 or 21 knt's.
I just went back and reread some of your post's, If the bottom is crappy like you describe than that is going to hold you back and you said when you got to 25 knt's your tank was near empty. All that plus what ever gear you have aboard will make a difference. If you go back to post's dating back to '04, Jobobb was saying that his boat speed changed just by moving the passengers from the fantail up onto the fly bridge.
