78 26FT Hartop Cruiser
  • Hello everyone, I bought my first Pacemaker early last year. Her name is the Island Girl have been having a blast with her all summer. She is a 1978 Hardtop Cruiser with a 318 Chrysler and a 1:1 Velvet Drive transmission. This winter I plan to repower her and clean her up.

  • Welcome Steve!

  • Welcome Steve, where abouts are you located?

  • Point Pleasant Beach New Jersey, currently docking on the Metedeconk River.

  • A bit south of me. I am north of Boston. Hope you won't be offended but with the price of fuel I don't think I will be taking a ride your way. I end up doing more floating than boatiing these days.

  • Like the rest of us Ken. Gas has jumped up 20 cents in the last week. Mind you it took 3 months to drop down to $3.28 the last time. No gouging going on here.

  • I know the feeling. some weekends we just party at the dock or motor up the canal and anchor up at Treasure Island. One of the reasons I bought a cabin cruiser is she's fun to hang out on even when we're not cruising. I hope to repower her this winter and take a trip to Block Island this summer though.

    Welcome!
I also have a hard to cruser. Its a 1975 and we bought it new, picked her up at the factory. She has been a great boat. We still have her. Not fast these days but she still has the Chrysler 225 horse power in her. Hope you enjoy her as much as we have.

  • We are the 3rd owner of her, and we love the boat. She's about to get some TLC this winter but overall a very reliable boat. We're looking forward to some vacation cruising with her this summer.
