fuel consumption
-
I just bought my 1973 36 foot sportfish it has twin 454 350 hp crusaders
can anyone with a similar boat give me a ballpark on per hour fuel consumption? how many gals per hour ? total ? at various rpm
I have to bring it home by sea in spring and want to plan a route including fuel stops
thank you -
I would plan on 1 mile per gallon, depending on the age of your motors. I have fuel used counters, getting up on plane I'm around 34 gallons per hours, once up, I pulls the throttles back to around 2900 rpm's, 24 knots, 20 gallons per hour.

~26 GPH @ 19-20 KTS @ 3100-3200. ~32+GPH (my 16GPH FlowScan is pegged) @ 22-24 @ 3300-3400
How far is the run (where to where)? There are a few factors like going against current/wind, weight of "accessories" on board, bridge enclosure up or down, clean bottom, prop condition that will all have an effect.
