Where on the Block is the number stamped?
-
I have a 70 Alglas 33. She has twin 350 crusaders in her. They were removed, rebuilt, and reinstalled, prior to my purchase. It seems as if the number plates have vanished when the rebuild was done.
The question I have for those of you who know these engines is:
Where on the block will I find the ID number stamped for these engines?
Thanks

Thanks for the information. It is a start. The casting number ( 3970010) behind the bell housing tells me that the block was cast for a Corvette engine from the years of 1969 to 1979.
I did end up finding the engine block stamped number on the right hand side at the front of the block.
Now to figure out how to decode it. -
That is easy, call your local GM dealer.
