Alglas 25 History

Alglas 25 History

I am trying to learn anything I can about the history of my new 67 Alglas 25 FB/SF. I cannot find the original serial/hull numbers. She is currently named Irish, Peconic, NY. I am told this was painted over an older name but from the looks of it, she has been named this for many years.

    Many thanks for any assistance!

If she was documented at some point you will find a 6 or 7 digit number fixed inside the hull somewhere. The digits will be preceeded by NO and all will be at least 3" in height. Here is the link to the USCG that you can check her history by name or documentation number.

The original hull number would've been on a plastic build plate with the "Alglas" logo across the face of it, mounted above the gangway into the cabin/foc'sle. See the attached picture.

Note that my boat's build plate was missing, but as luck would have it, the boat registration refers to the hull number. So if your registration makes reference to a code that looks like the one on this plate...25-G-XXX...then that is your original hull number.

    Kind regards,

    Dear JoeBobb,

I think I may have found the only clue, the mumber 229, which is scribed on the bottom of a plywood piece that looks to be original. Looking at your plate, do you think it might be safe to assume that the full number is 25-G-229?

    Many thanks,

    Jack
