    Hi all,
I just bought hull #105, a 40-foot Coho from 1969. I'll be rechristening her as the "Independence Day".
Love at first sight. Looking forward to fixing her up a bit and living aboard about 3/4 time.
Just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone!
    Chuck

Welcomee aboard Chuck from a fellow 40' owner. Where are you located?

@DesperadoII Nice rainy Seattle, Washington is where I'm at...on the fresh in Salmon Bay (inside the Ballard Locks on Lake Union) rather than the salt out at Shilshole or Elliott Bay. Covered moorage with a metal roof...it's going to be calypso all fall and winter, that's for sure!

How's life with your 40' in MD?

    Hi Chuck
We boat out of Middle River on the Northern Chesapeake Bay. Our boating season is from April to
the end of November. This year we have had Seattle weather we are currently 14" over our yearly average rainfall. We have had numerous coastal storms. I have had this Pacemaker for 2 years. Vessel is in great mechanical and electrical shape. The hull is sound with some rot around the windows. Biggest project was replacing the two 130 gal steel fuel tanks and replace with Moeller Plastic. Now working on the interior appearance and instrumentation. Whars your plans for the 40'?

Ah, plans. First week I replaced all the waste lines to the fwd head (totally permeated) and replaced the manual waste pump (old diaphragm was leaking, yuck) and removed the 3-way valves at each head. Carpet replacement is too expensive for now, needs a stove (propane princess 3-burner, I'll install it myself in November some time). Both engines started a month ago, but now the port engine won't catch...probably something minor but I'm a newbie. In search of a good gas mechanic, shouls probably winterize her anyway.

I can hopefully get through the winter, possibly install central head (diesel furnace?), and then repaint the topside, keeping the current colors (white sidewalls, and blue decking and accents) and adding red accents. The blue is a little darker and bluer than the original pacemaker color, but pretty close.

I know there are some window leaks, but I still intend to cruise her in the San Juan islands, 3-4 day weekends should be fine even if it rains. It's been a month now, and I'm definitely loving it.
    Cheers,
    Chuck
