She's Alive!

After all this time and work I was finaly able to get her running. Run's smooth as silk! So I will run her on the trailer off and on this next week and should have a pretty good idea how things will go. But so far I am very satisfied with the long block I bought from Rapido Marine.

Congratulations and glad to hear the news

Way to go Paul! Intangeable has been giving us lots of fun and pleasure on Sebago this year. We Anchored out twice and conditions couldnt have been better. I'm still in design phase of the bimini you sold me. P.S. It takes 3 - 5 gallon lowes buckets to slow her down to 2.7 mph for trolling.
-
Why the buckets? I used to just throttle down to an idil and found it to be a perfect speed. I hope to put her over in a couple weeks, I have some major clean up to do on her plus I want to run her a bit on the trailer to make sure all is well. I was going to work on her yesterday but by the time I got out of work it was 97 degrees out and I decided that I was going to do something where it woud be cool. Maybe tonight after work. Glad to hear Intangeable is going well for you.

@ 500 rpms she goes 3.4 mph, I read trolling speed needs to be between 2.5 and 3.1. We are using lead line to get to 50 feet but havent caught anything yet. I need to replace the fish finder transducer with a thru hull model. Our fiberglass is too thick for the puck style tranducer that came with the unit. I'm still dreaming of getting out on Casco bay. Seems like the boats always need cleaning!

I have my transducer epoxyed to the inside of the hull and it works great. If you want to see how it does then take a gallon baggy, put the transducer in it and fill the bag with water, then set it were you think you want it. I put mine beside the drain plug midship. The only thing that humming bird said was my deep readings would not go as far.

The wax ring is a new one to me. Anyone else tried it? I am just about to build a wet box and go the mineral oil route. I scavenged a couple of flat pieces of fiberglass hull from a Luhrs that was getting cut up. Makes it a lot easier for me.
