How to start a generator
-
OK, I need some more help, with the generator, I had someone look at it, and said by appearance, it seems to be in good shape, and he sees no problem with it being runnable again, the BIG problem that we had was that neither of us could figure out how to turn it on. The manual said it would either have a push button start, or a hand crank. This one seems to have all the wiring for a push start, but we couldn't find a button. Any one have any idea? It is a Kohler 4Kw, I believe the model # is 4A25 (it's really hard to read the plate on it)

A great place for info is http://www.smokstak.com/. I did a quick search on the number you have and came up w/zilch. Try getting more info off the unit and guestimate the year. Good luck.

If its truly a kohler it will have a start and stop switch on the electrical control box on top of generator head. I have a 1960 kohler that has this on it so does my 1966 kohler. Hope this helps
