    I am preparing to purchase a 1978 46' Pacemaker M/Y. I am going to have it surveyed next week, but am curious of the quality and life in the fiberglass hulls from that year. Anyone had any major problems with the glass from this era???

    The glass holds up extremely well. My 36' is older and still shines. What you ahve to look out for is what is behind the glass, especially around windows where water may have leaked and rotted the wood.

    I currently own a 1973 Pacemaker MY 40 for 2 years ad no problems. Secondly I had owned 1972 Pacemaker 28 Express since 1980 and used it from 1994 to 2008 as a TowBoatU.S. Towing vessel for 14 years on a 24/7 response schedule. She was still running when I sold the Business at the end to 2008.
