Restoring the above vessel. Seeking out leaks and currently in the process of replacing all the side glass. After that I believe there will be other leaks to find. Any suggestions with leaks on the vessel please get in touch with me. Thank you very much. Best Regards

We are leak tracing as well. We pulled the teak trim off and nearly all the wood between the trim and fiberglass are rotted. They are strips of wood though. The other pieces (such as the storage box behind the galley sink) are teak and are strong. After tracing the leaks, we found that the leaks are from crackled paint and the bolts holding down the bow rail. I think with the ages of these vessels, the sealant around those bolts is probably gone. We are painting and resealing the bolts. Let me know what you do with the side glass. I think ours has been replaced, but I'm not sure.

The side glass is being replaced however, we have discovered rot above and below the glass. Going to have to replace it. I am hoping we will not have to remove the fly bridge to fix the rot. Any ideas?

If there is leaking from the flybridge causing the rot below, you may consider painting the deck and filling any holes that may be exposed as well. Our leaks did not come from where we initially thought. The beauty of water is that it fits EVERYWHERE. We are painting all decks except for the bridge because we aren't seeing anything leaking below it. Next year though, hopefully BEFORE it does!

Any pix of the57? Look in the repairs and restorations for info.

After pulling out the galley wall under the port window it looks like most of the plywood under the back end of the window is rotten... Not sure if the windows were actually replaced!
