What trailer for '25 Alglas

What trailer for '25 Alglas

Tandem-axle for sure. I don't know what you mean by "low-budget". If you can find a good used trailer with the appropriate capacity, I suppose that would meet the criteria. These small Paces are marginally trailerable, I think - 25/26' is pretty long, they're very wide, very tall (freeboard, fixed running gear, cabin). I imagine they need a serious tow vehicle and a good ramp for launching/recovering. I have some pictures of one guy's 1977 26-footer on a trailer, and a few others that were on trailers primarily for servicing/storage. His was the only case I was aware of, of someone regularly storing and launching one of these from a trailer.

Given the straight inboard arrangement, you'll probably have to modify the beds on a regular motor boat trailer - or maybe get a trailer set up for a small centerboard-equipped sailboat.

    Kind regards,

I need a little help. Any suggestions as to what trailer I should be on the lookout for that my '25 Express will fit on? Something in the "low budget" catagory would be nice!

Where you located? I am getting a trailer from Starliner in Milton, Fla.(just east of Pensacola) for abt $3200-7000# tandum axle-alum. with stainless fittings and galv. wheels and one axle dics brakes. They are supposed to set it up for the Alglas but I figure I will have to do some fine tuning and add some keel rollers. They do come with what looks like 4"x6" bumks on rear angle cut to fit hull and set of forward bunks also. You can contact them at Richard Hardy <tomahawktrailers@gmail.com>

I have some great pic's of trailers, email me if interested and I will send them to you.
We just brougt our 25ft flybridge home today on a made up trailer that was a 5000#, I added two 3500# axles to it and it road OK but not what I would want to keep it on. Steel won't last long in salt and I had to add 4x4's under the bunks to hold the wait.

I just got a 7000# tandem with 4 wheel discs aluminum load rite up in Long Island NY- The issue was adding additional 4x4 sections to the top of the existing bunks that were hand fitted to the last 4' of concave contour just under the stringers on either side of the keel. I also added two small 2x4 braces out board of these under the secondard aft stringers toprevent rocking- Good luck with it. My total height is 10'6" without the plastic windshield on 14" tires- BCS

The trailer that I use is a 7000 lb shorelander with all the rollers which form to the hull.

Would you please post the model number of your Shorelander trailer. Your boat must sit high enough on the trailer to clear the fenders (beam is wider than trailer). Does this require some customization? I was headed to the purchase of a bunk trailer until I read your post! Thank you.

Mako, I will try to get the info for you. I will also take a picture for you.
